Dat zegt een woordvoerder van het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken dinsdag.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font face=\"Arial\">De luchtballon met 21 toeristen aan boord vatte nabij de oude stad Luxor vlam, waarna de gastanks explodeerden en de ballon driehonderd meter naar beneden stortte en in een veld met suikerriet belandde. <\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Negentien toeristen kwamen om. De slachtoffers komen onder meer uit Frankrijk en Groot-Brittanni\u00eb.<\/font><font face=\"Arial\">De crash is een van de ergste ongelukken met toeristen in Egypte sinds president Hosni Mubarak in 2011 bij een opstand werd verdreven. Toerisme is voor Egypte een belangrijke inkomstenbron. In het gebied zijn vaker ongelukken met luchtballonnen gebeurd. In 2009 raakten zestien toeristen gewond toen hun ballon een zendmast voor mobiele telefonie raakte.
