Dit melde de krant Die Welt woensdag. De Turkse president Erdogan heeft het westerse bondgenootschap vorig jaar op de top in Warschau uitgenodigd om naar Turkije te komen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">De Duitse krant berichtte dat Duitsland daar een stokje voor gestoken heeft, omdat Berlijn de Turkse regering die eer niet gunt. Duitsland vreest dat dan de indruk zou worden gewekt, dat het bondgenootschap de binnenlandse politiek van Erdogan steunt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Die Welt schrijft op gezag van hoge figuren bij de NAVO dat Duitsland is gesteund door Frankrijk, Nederland en Denemarken. Als blijkt dat de NAVO de uitnodiging van Erdogan op aandringen van Duitsland heeft afgeslagen, kan dit de toch al beroerde betrekkingen tussen Berlijn en Ankara nog verder beschadigen. Ook de relatie tussen Den Haag en Ankara staat onder druk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">De NAVO moet eind juni een besluit over de kwestie nemen.
